Three Clemson Players Fail Drug Test Before Cotton Bowl

Three Clemson players have failed drug tests prior to their game in the opening round of the College Football Playoff. The Tigers are waiting for word on any punishment for DL Dexter Lawrence, OL Zach Giella, and TE Braden Galloway, all of whom tested positive for trace amounts of ostarine in their systems. Dabo Swinney addressed the media regarding the three players on Monday:

“They have no clue how it got in their system. This could have come from hair products, cream, protein, a product you buy online and you think nothing is wrong with it. It could be something in a drink. 40 or so athletes over the last year or so have had to deal with same thing, and several were vindicated.” Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney via Tiger Illustrated

Clemson takes on Notre Dame in the Cotton Bowl on December 29th.
