On Monday Gators DR Jachai Polite made it official via social media. He tweeted his decision to go pro early.
"With our 2018 season coming to an end, I have decided to announce my intention to declare for the 2019 NFL Draft," Polite wrote. "Gator Nation will always hold a special place in my heart. I can't wait to prove to NFL teams that I can be and will be the best defensive lineman in the NFL. The lessons I have learned in Gainesville will carry with me to the next level, with my goal always being the same... #RetireMoms!"
Polite tied a school record for forced fumbles in a single season, recording his sixth against Michigan in the Peach Bowl. He came up just short of the school record for sacks in a single season, finishing with 11. Alex Brown holds the school record with 13.
